FOOTY UP DATE

We are sad to say goodbye to so many senior warriors from our team but look forward to the rebuilding of the team with young, exciting, talented players who don’t carry the baggage of the past. Both teams in the west can only go up from here and all eyes will be on the draft. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be yelling “Go Nick Nat” next year.

BALI FASHION WEEK

The preparation we put into our trip for this event has really paid off as we made valuable contacts with manufacturers and had meetings lined up before we even arrived. We worked really hard for the 11 days developing new design ideas, meeting with a variety of manufacturers and having samples made.

One of the special things about working with Balinese people is the fact that everything is still made very much at a village level. An example of this is when having our aprons made we designed the fabric and it is being silk screened 15 metres at a time in a village setting. This is how all of our products are made -bit at a time in small quantities and in homes. Although this causes us frustrations and delays we are very happy to be helping Balinese families rather than using large factory production.

We really enjoyed meeting the members of “The Link” (a group of 35 women who have small businesses in Bali) and we attended a fashion industry party with all the “beautiful people”. A photograph of us at the party was published in the social pages! So the Passion Girls made a mark in Bali.
